About your Kingston, NY concrete contractor

We build concrete driveways, patios, steps and foundations in Kingston and the cities around it. Every job gets the most care where you can't see it, in the base, the drainage and the timing.

How I got into concrete in Kingston

  • Learned from older hands

I spent every summer through school pushing wheelbarrows, pulling forms and learning to finish from older hands. By the end I knew concrete was my trade, and in 2017 I started our business here in Kingston. Those summers taught me that a slab holds up or doesn't because of the parts nobody sees later, the base it sits on, where the water goes and when you pour.

  • How we work today

Today we're best known for driveways, patios and steps that drain right and look clean, along with bigger structural work that needs careful planning. I'm the one who comes out to measure your job and write the estimate, and I'm working beside our crew on pour day, so nothing you told me gets lost between the two.

Most of our calls come from homeowners and small property owners who want someone to explain the job straight. I'll ask a few questions about what you're seeing first, then walk you through what the work involves, so you understand your job well enough to ask good questions of us or anyone else.

What we hold to on every slab

These are the habits behind our work, the ones I'd want from any contractor pouring concrete at my own house.

  • Base dug out, packed

We dig out the soft ground and pack the subgrade, the dirt and stone the slab sits on, because a base that's only raked level settles and takes the slab with it.

  • Drainage checked before forms

Before any forms go up we check where the water runs on your property, so the finished slab sheds rain away from the house instead of pooling against it.

  • Joints cut on time

We cut control joints on time. They're shallow grooves that give the concrete a planned place to crack, so any cracking follows a line we chose instead of wandering across your driveway.

  • Estimates you can compare

Your estimate comes in writing, listing what's included and what isn't, so you can compare it fairly. New York's Attorney General says most home improvement jobs over $500 need a written contract.

How we treat every job

  • Right office first

We start by checking whether your address falls under the City of Kingston, the Town of Kingston or another office, so paperwork is sorted before we set a date.

  • Permits handled with you

When your job needs a permit, we take care of the application with you. If your address is in the city, its building office handles all building permits and inspections.

  • Pours timed around heat

We plan pours around the heat, because concrete poured and finished in the midday sun can end up with a weak, dusty top down the road.

  • Base before finish

If the budget gets tight, we'd rather pick a plain broom finish, a light texture for grip, than cut the base, because no surface can save a slab that settles.

  • Time to cure

We'll tell you how long to stay off the new slab while it cures, which is the time concrete needs to gain strength, because using it early can damage it.

  • Licensed and fully insured.
